Entelios in the research project QUARREE100 – Residential and industrial development with 100% renewable energy
With the funding announcement “Solar construction / energy efficient city” the BMWI and the BMBF launched the initiative for the project “QUARREE100 – Resilient, integrated and grid-supporting energy system in an urban district with overall integration of renewable energy”. The investment of 24 million Euros is aimed at creating trendsetting impulses for the German “Energiewende”. QUARREE100 facilitates the exploration and implementation of a sustainable energy supply in an urban district named “Rüsdorfer Kamp” in Heide, located on the west shore of Schleswig-Holstein. The project serves as an example for other districts in Germany. Entwicklungsagentur Region Heide – the local development agency – and the Institute for Advanced Energy Systems (AES) from the University of Bremen coordinate the collaboration of twenty research partners. During the project term of five years, starting in November 2017, the consortium develops solutions to optimize the use of renewable energy locally and therefore avoid wasteful curtailment.
Entelios contributes to the research project as a private sector expert in the area of flexibility management and grid communication. It is our goal to support the energy grid by making use of flexibilities across all sectors in the district. We are looking forward to cooperating with strong partners, to exchanging knowledge and gaining results in order to make a real contribution to the energy transition.
